How to make casseroles without creamed soups
If your like me… and don’t want to spend all day cooking but still want nutritious yummy meals then you may find yourself making casseroles. It isn’t easy however if you can’t use cream of mushroom soup right? Wrong. There is definitely a way to keep it easy if your kitchen is a real food kitchen.
In my family I have various recipes of my favorite casseroles. Making a real food casserole or turning your favorite recipe into a real food casserole is pretty basic and easy. Most often you will just look for natural ingredients. When it comes to replacing the creamed soups here is a little of what you’ll need.
What you’ll need to keep it real with casseroles:
- Chicken or beef broth
- a milk, sour cream or yogurt
- mushrooms or chicken
- seasonings
Depending on your casserole depends on what you’ll include but you can just throw in 1-2 cups of broth and 1 c cream or yogurt. Mix that in in place of cream of mushroom soup.
Want to make that easy?
Keep a stock of beef or chicken broth
You can keep a stock of broth by:
- making large batches and canning it
- or freezing it
- or keep a chicken cooking in the crock-pot
