I wish I could say that I have always known and understood health, that I was raised this way, and that it is easy to live healthy every day. My life has been quite the contrary. My parents own an extermination company and my in-laws own a fast food restaurant. From where I’ve been to where I’m headed is laughable. I hate to say that I don’t support the use of either of these businesses, and on this blog I will help you find every possible way to live cleaner and healthier, so you won’t need to. Fortunately for me, my family won’t be offended. There is something about being exposed to certain things that teaches you to embrace the opposite.
My personal changes began 2 1/2 years ago after I gave birth to my second beautiful daughter. Both of my pregnancies were miserable experiences. So miserable, even, that I am still afraid of trying for a third pregnancy.
I decided that I needed to do to be healthier, for my life in general, and in case I ever decided to get pregnant again. I started watching health documentaries. I watched Food Matters, and Food Inc. I studied the scriptures. I watched more health documentaries; Forks over Knives, The Gerson Miracle, Plastic Planet, and Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. I started following health blogs and collecting recipes. I started trying home remedies, and exploring alternative medicine. I have slowly started to change my life. Each of these steps changed me. Each time I add knowledge, it strengthens me. Each time I try, I find truth. Each step I take, I attain greater health.
It’s Your Turn
I encourage you all to do what I have done. God did not intend for us to be weak and sick. He did not intend for us to live in pain or plagued with disease. There is so much hurt that we cause ourselves. I know that through faith and effort we can all be stronger, and healthier, and happier.
